Father's Day
Shirt Gift Box

SUPPLIES:
Two sheets of white cardstock
One sheet of striped cardstock
Scissors
Double-sided tape
Ruler
Shirt template (Download the PDF)
Tie and top knot templates (Download the PDF)
Bone folder (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
Making your shirt
1. Print and cut out the shirt template. Trace the template on the white cardstock and cut out your design. This will become one side of your shirt. Repeat for the other side.
2. To make the tie, use the tie template. Trace and cut out the tie and top knot on the striped cardstock.
3. Cut out two 1/2-inch-by-1-inch squares pieces of white cardstock.
4. Use double-sided tape to tape your squares to the top portion of your shirt, one for each side. This will become the collar.
5. Tape the knot and tie pieces to one side of your shirt. Position the tie so it is centered down the middle when both pieces are put together.
Making your box
1. Cut out a 7-3/4-inch-by-7-3/4-inch square on the second sheet of
white cardstock.
2. With a ruler and a bone folder, score vertically from the left at: 2-1/4-inches, 2-3/4-inches, 5-3/4-inches, and 6-1/4-inches.
3. From the top score horizontally at: 1/2-inch, 1-inch, 6-3/4-inches and 7-1/4-inches.
4. Cut out your corners but leave the 1/2-inch squares.
5. Use your scissors to cut 1/2-inch incisions horizontally at the 1-inch margins from the top on both sides. Repeat this step for the bottom half. This is so you can fold the 1-inch squares inside to hold the box together.
6. Fold at every crease and tape the 1/2-inch squares to the adjacent sides. The left flap should be longer than the right flap.
7. Tape down the right side of your shirt to the right fl ap of your box. Position it to the middle of the box.
8. Tape down the left side so that it matches with your right. Because the left flap is longer, there will be excess cardstock, this is to be hidden underneath the right flap.
9. Add stickers to your gift box. You can also encourage your keiki to draw buttons and/or pockets on the shirt.
10. Fill the box with candy or a special Father’s Day gift.
